Law Enforcement Torch Run, Polar Plunge

Hosted by our Oceanside and Carlsbad Police Department as part of our annual Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest grassroots fundraising event to benefit Special Olympics Southern California, San Diego County.

Be invigorated as never before! Take the Polar Plunge into the Pacific Ocean to benefit the Special Olympics Southern California San Diego County athletes!

On Saturday February 18, 2012 Law Enforcement agencies as well as members from the community will jump into the 60 degree ocean to raise money, win rewards and have a good time! The Oceanside and Carlsbad Police Department’s have long been fundraising partners with Special Olympics. This is the 5th annual Polar Plunge and the goal is to raise $20,000 for Special Olympics San Diego County athletes.

We will begin with registration followed by a short program at 8:30am then take the plunge at 10am. There will also be a silent auction with fantastic items. Once we are done at 11:30, we encourage everyone to have lunch at Joe’s Crab Shack, about a mile away.  As one of our sponsors, Joe’s Crab Shack will be donating a portion of all Polar Plunge Participant proceeds that day to Special Olympics!

If you are interested in taking the plunge we ask all registered plungers to raise $50.00 minimum, but of course encourage you to raise more. All registered plungers will receive a long sleeve Polar Plunge T-shirt and 2 tickets to LEGOLAND— Sea Life Aquarium. Other incentive are also received depending on how much money you raise.
